I'm considering giving up a book right now, but if I do I would mark it as read.
Why?
Because that way I know I've read it - as much as I would want to.
And if I even find it and I think "oh, maybe I should read it" my own review would give me a hint - "no, you should not!"

I think the thing is that you can't peel the fake stickers off because it's part of the cover. But yeah, when they use images from the movie/show and not whatever the cover was before hand (esp the wheel of time because I always loved there covers) is so annoying.

Oh that's a good way of keeping track of books you don't like. I usually just remove them if they no longer interest me. But maybe I should start doing that? Or I could just make a shelf on goodreads for books to avoid.

My problem is that I forget titles and authors.
So I might forget a book I read. And ever easier is forgetting a book you did not read!
For me this works. And I don't care if it says "read".

Oooh, the fake stickers! My brain didn't register the "fake" XD Totally agree, they're a terrible idea. Even a regular sticker would be better, at least one can try to peel it off. Idk who thought it was a good idea to ruin covers with those fake stickers. Then again, probably not everybody cares about their covers, just the content.


Some people give their review like "I couldn't finish it, had to give up, it was awful", so it seems fair you would count it as read, tbh.

For me at least it's more about LABELING as read than COUNTING as read.

I usually end up updating my GoodReads Challenge and add a few more books.
The giving-up is very rare but there are some other books I read that I want to review (and appear as "read") but don't really count for me, such as recipes books.
So before the year ends I consider all those and I add their number to my challenge.

Yeah, recipe books aren't really a read, are they? XD It would be extremely difficult to just read it.

Yes, they are not a proper read.
But I review them, so...

I live with that, I just raise my challenge and that's it.
After all who cares about my challenge, other than myself?

Inspired to do what?
Read? Create a challenge? Give up a book? xD
