Oh no! Sorry Altaira, I think what happened is you had a trial knuffel. Those were introduced after I'd already been playing for a few years so I'm not super sure of the details, but basically you get a knuffel without paying the whole fee, and then it expires after like a month or something.

None of your knuffel from now on will do that, knuffel bought normally never run away or anything.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think trial knuffels are free for a time, then you have to choose: either pay the full price or let them go.
So you can get them free while you save up, and decide whether that's your thing before you spend your FPs on one.

Yeah they don't give you the choice anymore I guess cuz I was caring for it and logged in and they told me it was running away to the wild

I was just feeding/playing with another new member knuffels, and I noticed this:

Trial period remaining: 9 Days, 3:20:42

So I suppose it's got a trial period, but maybe it's not publicited well enough?
If that's the case that's something we could defintely suggest to Firn & starkad (our admins).

Ah yeah, cuz honestly I didn't know what trial officially meant, plus I don't remember actually seeing it on the light one I had. Plus she took forever to level up and never found a thing digging so I really thought nothing of it. I assumed the free one your given takes longer to grow. Not a test of learning how to use/care for them and then vanish. So I was just very confused. Maybe I just didn't read all the fine print.

They do take long to level up. They always do.
But they have a chance to find materials even when they are "young", which also gives them extra XP. So if you have the time to feed, play and dig with them daily the first levels are not so hard.

Each level takes longer than the previous one though, so reaching level 100 is not something you can do in a few days.
