I don't know how Tarot works but she said my dad would meet and marry someone blonde.
My dad met and married a blonde and got divorced and met another blonde woman he was willing to marry but it didn't work out.
For me, I think she said I'd become a mom or be a strong mother figure.
Don't have kids and never plan to but I do have a baby sister I help raise u8

I don't think I'll ever be able to tell who someone can meet. I told my mom once she would have a male judge in her lawsuit case and she did. And that would be it from my fortune telling XD
Meanwhile my own readings are like: you're unstable again, you need to get your shit together before you do this or that. XD

I kind of wish I had gotten into it...
I don't even know where I'd start with trying to learn.
I always loved the cards, though.

You could start by getting a deck and just going with your gut :) The traditional Rider-Waite tarot has the symbolism you'd want to start with. Or any deck that is based heavily on that symbolism.
Or better yet, you could watch collective readings on youtube, see whether you like it or not. I'm still learning what some cards could mean just by watching them :mclaugh:
A book on tarot is another option but I think it's quite boring to just read about it. Idk, I didn't start with a book myself, although my dad gave me an old book on tarot by a known esoteric here in Poland. I forget his name, lol. I'd like to get a more recent book about tarot in the future.
Maybe a book and a deck both, pulling one card a day, read about it, etc. That's often what is recommended for beginners. Or just look at the picture and read from it,what comes to your mind and so on.

I think I said this before here, but I still really lust after art tarot decks. They're so expensive but some of them are so pretty. I wouldn't even necessarily use them, just look at them.
I also want to get into collecting special decks of cards... I have a few already. But it's another stupid hobby that costs money for no reason XD It's not like you can 'do' anything with it afterwards. I like hobbies that have more of a point, so I guess I feel guilty about the idea of spending money on something that doesn't do anything - it just exists.
Maybe if I was a magician or played cards a lot there would be a point XD

I also really want to get into collecting vintage Polly Pockets... this is kind of out of nowhere and a bit strange I guess, but I had a ton of them when I was a little kid and I loved them so much. Then one day my mother rounded them all up and donated them to charity even though I still wanted to keep them. I was really upset about it. I guess while I'm healing from the trauma of childhood I'm kind of mentally going back there? It started with getting new copies of old books I loved as a child because I wanted to read them to B. Now I'm moving onto this I suppose. (when I say I want to, I... maybe have placed a few bids on eBay already >.>). The cool thing is that they are actually worth quite a bit these days. When I think about how much they could have sold for if she didn't just grab them all and donate them *facepalm* One of the sets I definitely had as a child is on Etsy right now for £75. And that's just one of the mini sets - it seems to be really hard to find the bigger ones with all the pieces, and I did have two large sets, quite a number of the medium ones, and some other small and mini ones too. Imagine!!!

Regarding the weekend, we're still waiting on the outcome which was supposed to be resolved yesterday, so I guess I'll talk about it some more when it has finally an answer.

I actually use those special collecting decks as oracle decks. It's not what they were made for, but oracle cards have no set system and you can take any set of cards and make your own meanings for them (based on the art, which is really also how tarot works). I'd love to do that with Cardcaptor Sakura cards and so on.

Also I am forever indulging my inner child and it's a worthy (and healing) pastime.

I don't think I have the brain capacity to learn at this point xD;

I had several Polly Pockets when I was a kid u8
I had a family member who died and her name was Polly so I left one of my Polly Pockets on her grave.

I had the Cardcaptor Sakura deck of cards.
Unfortunately, I lost some of them :\

I only have one card deck that's ornamental and it's with Mucha's art. It's goregous. Regardless, we still play them with Ash. We just rarely play cards.
Using them as oracle cards is an awesome idea! It's true that with any oracle deck you need to learn the whole (I had a brain fart, is this correct spelling kind lol) new system. But I love all the new art and I actually like the different system. It adds something every time.

I don't think I had any Polly pockets as a kid. At least I don't remember. If I did, it didn't play a huge part in my childhood.

@Moi: I'm sure you'd catch on if you ever wanted to try in the future :mcwink:

All forms of divination are finding patterns and assigning meaning, so that's what they all have in common (scrying, runes, bibliomancy etc). Oracle cards are more freeform than tarot most of the time. For someone who wants to do divination but isn't sure about studying a system, oracle can be an option (but it depends on the oracle deck, some decks have a detailed system developed by the person who made the deck).

With oracle decks I only draw one card at a time and give my intuition more freedom than with tarot. So I don't actually learn a new system typically, with oracle. My favourite oracle deck is called the Earthbound Oracle and it doesn't have a guidebook at all because it's meant to be completely intuitive.

I sometimes see messages other than in the description with both oracle and tarot. I always start out with what I feel intuitively. I read the descriptions if I have no idea how to interpret a card in the context, or when I feel there's more to know than what I'm seeing.

Idk if I have a fave oracle. I have several now and they all have beautiful art. I think maybe my Spirit Animal Oracle deck. But I love others, too :mcblush:

Ooh, that Earthbound oracle looks nice! :mclove: Don't make my wishlist grow xD
