Lol yeah i sometimes say that if you combine my sister and i together, we’d make one perfect daughter. Now, with all our cooking specialties, if you combine all of us together, we’d be a master chef. XD

But yeah, i hate measuring stuff…8U all those numbers.

As a mathematician, I must say I hate measuring for recipes.
I eyeball pretty much anything.

I tend to measure when I'm baking a new recipe, but then start eyeballing more and more as I get more comfortable with it? Nowadays when I make cookies I just throw random things in XD

i dunno, baking seems like a very precise kind of food making process....8U i can't "eyeball" it and know if my eyeballing is right or not. XD;; its why i prefer cooking, at least i can just throw random stuff in without worrying about measurements.

I find with baking, as long as you have the base measurements okay (like the ratio of flour to butter to eggs), the rest can be rather versatile. Like for me the amount of sugar in most recipes is waaaay too much, so I tend to cut it down by at least half and it still works out okay /o/

ah. well i don't trust myself with baking...8U i think the last time i tried to bake something, it came out hard. XD;;

I think baking is the only one thing I'm likely to measure acurately what I need, specially the first times I make a recipe.
I may not need it for an sponge cake (I do use cups for an approximate measurement, my mom eyeballs it completely) but it's true that some recipes are a bit more delicate. Specially those with a lot of butter imho.


But, yeah, most recipes call for a lot of sugar.
Sometimes it's just because they want it as a preservative (yeah, you can make a jam with much much less sugar, but it won't last that long) but sometimes it just adds some of the texture. So I may cut it by half but very rarely I go under that, just in case.

yeah which is why i hate baking. xD;; measurements make my brain go @-@

I don't do it often either.
I used to bake fancy cookies every week, but now I don't have the time anymore.

Some people would think that baking is relaxing. I’d think it was a chore…8U
