lets just hope that you never get into an accident and they ask you for your blood type. =/

Depends on the country laws and policy.

In my country it is forbidden to get paid for either blood or organs.
It's an altruistic donation.

I had mine checked as a child, way before I could donate.

I don’t think doctors can just willy nilly take your blood here. XD;; like they’ll need some kind of important medical reason or something. They can’t be like “i’ll take some of your blood and have it checked to see what blood type it is” or something…

Yes, here it's the same, you can't be paid for donating blood.
I suppose we could draw the line at some other point (not for organs, yes for blood) but what they did here was forbid payment for any donation.



Well, you probably take your blood every once in a while, don't you?
I mean, I can go for a yearly check-up (which I don't ) and ask for my blood to be tested, just because I want to make sure I'm fine.
At some point in my life I said to the doctor "Oh, since we are doing this, can be ask about the blood type?" and he said yes, ticked another box in the petition form and that was all.
The lab just checks for it with the same blood sample.
