My mom has a friend that's very wealthy. I haven't been to her house in a while, but after it was built I was given a tour and saying it's extravagant is an understatement. Super friendly people. They took in their daughter's friend whose parents kicked her out and helped raise her baby so she could get back on her feet. You actually wouldn't tell by looking at them they are THAT rich until you visit them.

I have some upper middle class friends but no one who is truly wealthy.

The most baffling thing with financially secure people is the food waste for me. I watched a middle class lady scrape perfectly good avocado slices into the garbage disposal and I almost cried.

Wow that's kind of insane.

Please don't look at my garbage. So many of the veggies I've bought this year have gone to waste because my sister and nephew are so dang picky. I mean, I finally said idc if you don't like it you don't have to eat it. But she also doesn't eat leftovers and insists on a different meal every night. So leftovers go to waste. It's so annoying. And if something is barely past the buy date she'll throw it away. I've literally lost my mind with her. I cannot wait to be by myself again.

My husband also won't eat leftovers and I can only eat so much for lunch so we end up wasting a lot of food too.

My husband has a friend who is pretty wealthy and she can be a bit disconnected at times but has been getting better about it now that she lives on her own. He also has family that are upper middle class and they are snobby as hell. One of them had the nerve to comment on how little my family makes and that the area I grew up in wasn't great.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

we eat leftovers all the time. 8u we don't like to waste food.

my employers, they donate day old bread and danishes and other foods to the food bank near us twice a week. which i suppose gets rid of food waste. but like i see them buy the in-house cookies they make and then throw them out after like 2 days because apparently 2 day old cookies should be "waste"......8u they've also told me to dump out lentil soup (which was perfectly being refrigerated) after a weekend. 8u like noone touched it, its only been in the fridge, WHY are you WASTING food that can still be eaten?? 8u

I cannot imagine not eating leftovers. Like if they're a week old, don't eat that. But a day or two in the fridge is totally fine.

I end up throwing away veggies too because I forget that I have them. Out of sight out of mind. I only throw them away if they're gross. If they're still good I will use them.

Imagine being so picky that having the same thing two days in a row is appalling to you
Meanwhile for work I usually have the sake thing for lunch each week

I hated working in food service because of the food waste. I used to work in a kitchen where we had to dump out most stuff we didn't sell.

I meal prep my lunches every sunday so I would take the leftovers if it weren't for that. It's just so annoying. I live for leftovers because you make a big mess one day and then the next few days you just eat leftovers and not have to worry about making it or cleaning up more dishes than what you eat off of.

I feel like so much food gets wasted because places wont donate the food. I remember when I worked at a grocery store, customers could buy "bags of groceries" for the food bank. Like why not do that with the food that you throw out? It's like when the check out asks if we want to donate to whatever cause. Like you're a multi-million dollar grocery store chain, why don't you donate it without taking it from customers?
