I never had an advent calendar where you build something but I like the concept of of having some sort of bigger picture in the end.

The last few years when I made an advent calendar for my friend I put in an actual calender for the next year but piece buy piece so that in the end she had a complete calender xD and candy every other day

I'd love making advents, the arts and craft shop I go to has so many fantastic DIY's for that. But I have no one to trade with. :}

i've never made my own advent calendar. then again, i would just think its too much work. pft

oh yes, there are many pretty craft kits for adventcalenders out there. of course it depends on the kit but with those its not that much work at all!
of course, its not really worth it if you have nobody to give it too ^^;,
sure you could still make one for yourself... a friend of mine did that, she made herself some reusable ones and collects tiny things to put in during the year and then packs them in blindly but yeah,
I think its nicer to give and get them as a present

I swear, if somebody would make me an advent I would love he forever. So it is the one thing I will never mention to those around me. :}

But I guess you do not want to, or at least I get that much from your post ^^°

The point is, there are some people in my life that I avoid as hard as I can. If this comes out they will give me one only to then keep mentioning it whenever they want something from me.

If not for knowing this knowledge will be abused I would tell it to all those I love. :}
