im glad we don't have ceiling fans here. xD;; ive seen them used at other places but it does seem kind of a bit of hassle that the way to turn them on is through that chain.

Ummm, do you have those rocking-chair fans? Where it's just one large blade and tied to the rocking chair so when you sit and rock it fans you?

Oh.
My dad's godfather made them so we have several in our family. Lessee, he gifted one to my dad's mom each time she got pregnant (they kept moving and lived in a different country for each kid she had, so she got a new one each time and left the old one with whatever family was closest; my dad's theory is that the guy was in love with my grandmother and just never got over it when she married my grandpa. Not sure if it's true or not, but it was a lot of work he went to, to make them and ship them out to her each time), and another to my dad when he got his Master's degree, and another to my dad's sister when her husband retired and they got their own house they didn't plan to move from.
So, that's five of them in the family, one place or another.
I don't think any are hooked up to fans right now, though?
There's one with a cousin (my aunt's older daughter) who lives out in the east coast of the United States, but they're in the middle of winter right now so the fan won't be hooked up.
Everyone else who has one lives in colder areas, or for the one who lives in the middle east, they have fancy modern air conditioning and don't bother with the fans.
(There were other, nicer rocking chairs in the family, but none of them came to our branch, so we have the home-made ones from him instead. Mom's mom's mom's mom's father's family were all artisan-level master woodworkers who made fancy furniture, but our side at this point doesn't have any rocking chairs from them; we sort of lost track of them in the mid 1800s, I guess it would be, when there was a bit of a family fight than never got patched up)
...
Why do I KNOW all this? Ugh, stupid family stories told over and over until you memorise them without even realising...

In the past, my sister was learning about backstage theatre productions and I think there was once a project where she had to create something. She made this curved looking rocking chair. To be honest, it was kinda awkward to sit on lol. It was like this crescent shaped thing lol.

Oooh, she made an actual working prop for the show? That's kind of impressive, even if it was awkward and uncomfortable to use.
I definitely couldn't manage to make one, ha ha ha
Were you also in theatre?

No I think it was just a homework project thing. I’m not sure, I didn’t really pry much into her life and affairs.
No I wasn’t. And neither was my sister after awhile. She switched to Media bc the stress was too much.

Wait, media is less stressful than theatre?
...
Wow, all my illusions are shattered!
Huh.
Anyhow! Today I found out one of my windows was cracked, because the frost pattern was super suspicious. Sure enough. I'm trying to decide how I want to handle it. It's a small enough project, it's tempting to use it to try and learn home repair. On the other hand, I could also use it as an excuse to attempt an art project, and add a layer of stained glass on top of the current window.
The crack is tiny right now, and if I just apply another layer, it should support it nicely, and then I'd have a cool looking Neat Thing.
But cracks grow... and I don't know if it would be enough to stabilize it properly.
I should look up the home repair either way, it'll give me more info.
Still.
The frost pattern looked neat.

Oh yeah theatre is super stressful. I'm friends with multiple theatre kids and the fact that you only get one take puts a lot of pressure on you.
Oh no this is the worst time of year to have a cracked window.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.
