Oh we got some rain here. The ground is a bit wet and the temps have gone down. Finally. QoQ

Every time I go outside I make a habit to drown ground wasps to death because I am allergic to them. :C

That's kinda cute though.
I love squirrels though they can be a handful.
And you reminded me there's a squirrel park I wanted to go to. So many things to doooo.

Thanks! You just reminded me that I should definitely do the test. Because I know I am allergic to honey bees but I have never been bitten by a wasp and I don't want to find out that way.

I used to be ER or die level allergic to bees
Then I outgrew it entirely
And then I had cancer
And now I'm back permanently at "yo I need benadryl I just got stung" level allergic
Last full sting was done by a dead yellow jacket. Dusty level dead
Did get a scrape style sting on my finger at work tho. Thought it was a fly crawling up on my ear, did a grab and fling, felt the sharpness of the sting, then saw the bee. Amazingly it was a scrape and not an actual sting but my finger still went mildly red
Wildly

Allergies are weird. Like my dust/pollen/dust mites allergies disappear completely when I have a cold and disappeared for a few years after I had Covid.

For bees though I have the inverse experience, have walked on one three times in my life, the first time was fine, the next ones were not, like my foot doubling in size not fine. Which is annoying but kinda OK when it's the foot, definitely not OK were I to be stung in the face.
That makes me scared of wasps because they're already dangerous for people not allergic.

Ball hornets are nasty. They don't lose their stingers and can identify attackers by location of attack
And their nests always have 2+ entries
Got one in my front yard. Dad doused it twice so far and the storm yesterday did damage but they're hanging on. First spray was a general douse, second was at the main entrance

One of the things I like about living in the city, no risk of having a hornet nest in my balcony that overlooks the highway.
(Well, never say never obviously but the risk is limited)

I do know there's an association of bee keeper that keep their bees on top of some buildings nearby though.

It is NOT cute lol. We’ve been constantly monitoring this one squirrel bc it’s the only one that steals our tomatoes. So we have to be one step ahead and harvest ripe to semi ripe tomatoes before it can.
