I don't see why? It's probably better for the tea than bottles too.

Though the only times I have seen tea in a can in Japan is because it is mixed with alcohol.
Some places serve matcha beer too, which is pretty scary and I couldn't bring myself to try it.

I drink green tea? Rarely do I drink matcha unless it’s something made at a cafe. Or if it’s like matcha ice cream lol.

It isn't that different though. Matcha is just green tea in powder form.

But does it taste different?
Is it like how smoked cheese tastes very different from fresh cheese, even though they are the same thing, just prepared differently?

So, if I buy something that is "matcha flavored" and something that is "green tea flavored" will they taste very similar or will I be able to tell them apart?

It tastes very different. Matcha is a lot more powerful and bitter than green tea.
Which I guess is why matcha latte is so popular.

I love drinking matcha latte (with milk though)! Though I've recently tried the pure matcha latte, it was better than I expected. Not too bitter not too sweet, it's just right in between the two hehe

I only got to have matcha once. We went to a major city for a comic con and afterward we walked around and enjoyed some very pretty streets. There was a tea shop there, and I had a matcha... something. Latte? It was good. Very green tasting.

It's funny how so many of my memories from traveling are based around food like that.

You go somewhere, you're wandering around exploring, you get hungry, and you end up who-knows-where eating who-knows-what and discovering all sorts of unfamiliar flavors.

It's fun!

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

Very simple but have you tried the tea section of a big supermarket? That or the asian food section. Or a tea store. Or a store that specializes in Japanese stuff in general, at worse they should know.
It's probably major enough now so that you'd have a chance to find some. Maybe just matcha powder but with a bit of luck even pre-made matcha latte mix.
