Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

Telephone, telefono, telefoon, telefoanina, telefonit, fòn, annnd then more blunt references like "tarho" meaning "distortion", which is certainly more accurate in poor service areas.
Ha ha ha ha, I love the "tarho", which language is that one? It's so true...
A Sub-Saharan African language called "Hausa". The website said it was a derivative of the Arabic "talihraf".

Huh, I'd never heard of Hausa *or* Talihraf before, had to look them up. Now, in my mind, they will forever be tagged as the "telephone" language, lol

There's probably about as many languages and dialects in Africa as there are in China

Likely millions worldwide
There's known lost locations. Ancient Egyptains had a neighboring trade partner, Punt. We know all about Punt. Except where it was. It was common knowledge, why bother writing it down anywhere?
And lost info on other stuff. Table settings used to have three spices (using loosely): salt, pepper, and forgotten. Theory is, iirc, mustard. That's from the Victorian era
