Hello people,
we have changed our server move schedule a bit: I began preparations for the migration of the system today!
Our site has grown a bit too big for the capacities of our current hoster, and I'm now configuring our new server, which will hopefully lead to less downtimes, delays, and database-related errors.
Since the transfer of the domain to the new server has to be done by our hoster, I currently can't say when exactly this will happen, nor how long the downtime will be. I hope to have a date before next weekend.

An urgent update: The hoster people have already initiated the domain transfer, I really wasn't expecting them to be so fast! I will have to shut down KofK services sometime this afternoon, I guess, and maybe we'll be down for a few hours.

Okay, got some more information meanwhile.
I'm going to take down the current site at around 14:00 UTC. I expect us to be around again at about 20:00 UTC, though this is not a promise, because some maintenance work at the new server I was planning to do has to be done before we go up again.

The DNS records seem to have been updated almost everywhere, our own DNS server is running well, most data has been imported properly, although our server is still on it.
Anyway, most services are back on line. It's just that during the next few days, I'll have to do some more maintenance stuff on the new server, so maybe expect we'll have slow response sometimes.

All pressing maintenance work is done, server migration is completed for now. *opens beer*
Right now, all seems to be working well. I think I need a break now. Have fun on the new server!
