Ok I've read through ALL the announcement pages , and I'd like to say the following things:
1.Firstly
THANK YOU FIRN AND STARKARD for this WONDEFUL feature that I was absolutly not expecting! This is wonderful, I really hope I'll be able to get some of the knuffels I missed.I'm so grateful for this feature, I can't explain how pleasantly surprised I am, and these gifts you guys give us such as this feature just make me love and appreciate Kofk more, I trully believe this site is unique , you guys are the most devoted and generous admins I've ever seen
2.Regarding the "abuse" of certain users buying f*ckloads of the old knuffels being given up for adoption, I have seen certain suggestions that I have liked and would like to point out, for I believe that it is unfair to be buying several and depriving others of these old knuffels as so few are being released at once.Buying as many new knuffels as you want is ok, because there are large numbers of them, but buying 5 of an old knuffel that many users have been wanting to get, is selfish imo.

while in general i do not agree with adoption limits i think in this case there is a difference- it's not the same as several hundred being in the shop with a chance to save up FP to get them. however, IF there is a limit, i believe it should only be on the amount of any one certain knuffel, not an overall daily or hourly or whatever limit. for example, if you just adopted a water gen 1, you cannot adopt another water gen 1 for a period of time (a day, a week, whatever) but you can adopt any
other older knuffel that pop up. a person has every right to adopt however many of any knuffel they want, limited or not, but it is somewhat discourteous to adopt multiple of any one older knuffel in a case where the demand is going to far outstrip the supply.
I LOVE this idea, because I believe it is 100% fair. Creating a time limit for adopting older knuffels would give everybody a fair chance to get at least one old knuffel. And users who would wish to have several of that knuffel would just have to wait for the time limit to buy another, if there are still left. That way we would be giving both users what they want, I think its a win-win situation.
As to how long that time limit should be, I think it should be as little as 1 hour, and as much as 1 day. Because more than one day would be too much, but
I think 24 hours would be a fair wait, considering that not all users are in the same time zone, and giving 24 hours would give any users no matter what time zone they're in to get that knuffel. Also, having a 24h wait would make it easier for newer users to get those old knuffels too, it would give them time to get foodpoints in that period of time, and right now I think it's gonna be harder for them to get their hands on them.
3. Now regarding another suggestion made:
Manah wrote:Talking about perma-banned users, maybe you could put their knuffel up for adoption? It's unfair to take them away from users who might come back to the site, sure, but perma-banned users are....well, perma-banned.^^
I also think this is a great idea. I don't know if there are many perma-banned users or if they have many knuffels, but it's clear that if they aren't using their account and therefore not using their knuffels, these should be put up for adoption.
I'm not sure how I feel about putting knuffels from inactive accounts for adoption. One side of me thinks its unfair for those users because they've payed for their knuffels, and it would suck not to have them if they ever logged back in.BUT, another side of me thinks that if a user hasn't logged in 2 years straight then it's quite posible he isn't ever coming back to Kofk.
Also,
if we made it so that you "lose" your knuffels if you don't log in 2 years straight it would probably incourage those users to come back to kofk, to pop in to see what's new at least once a year (they wouldn't even have to feed their knuffels, just logging in would be enough).
After all, the early knuffels that are not capable of digging are currently being removed if their owners haven't played or fed with them in ¿a year I think it is?So putting up for adoption knuffels of long-time inactive users would be similar and just as fair.
