@Mrow
Yeah, I'd say it's one of the best Dragon Breeding site right now. They have this weekly competition called "Dominance" where in you level up your Dragons at a certain levels you like and you exalt them for flight bonuses rewards.

Dominance is determined by a flight's dedication to exalting dragons. These dragons leave their home lairs to forever serve under their elemental deity, using their combined power to help combat the other flights, as well as the newly-emboldened Beastclan hordes.

Each Saturday, the top three flights with the highest ratio of exaltations will receive special bonuses for the following week. Beware, however: If the Beastclans secure one of the three top slots, no flight will receive that slot's bonuses.

@Jessicat
Hello! Just like Mrow above, I didn't know that there's this thing called "Western Japanese" food type lol and hey, I'd prefer calling Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki a kind of street food too. Basing it on my observations while watching animes and some J-doramas where it was usually being served on the streets :)

Have you guys tried a Wasabe Ice Cream?

*joins in the poking session* XD

Oops, sorry, I think i confused you guys, I meant it was a food from West Japan, not a westernised version of Japanese food. The California roll is an example of the latter... What I meant is that takoyaki and okonomiyaki are specialities of the Hiroshima and Osaka areas...

fielkun - I'm reluctant to try wasabi sweet things... Is it any good?

Fielkun - Wasabi ice cream?! I'm keen beans to give it a go. I enjoy wasabi. I do that extremely Western thing where you mix wasabi with soy sauce and dip your sushis/sashimis in there. I recently learnt that you're supposed to keep them separate. :mcheh:

Jessicat - Ohhh, that makes sense. I'm guilty of enjoying California rolls from time to time. :mcheh: Do you make a lot of Japanese dishes at home? One of my friends is Japanese and she tells me they don't actually eat sushi very often because it's quite laborious to make. Instead they eat a lot of teriyaki and tempura stuff.

Zesurin - Haha awesome! Jesslyn is a pretty name~ :mcsquee:

Zesurin - I've never met a Jesslyn before! It's a nice name.

Mrow - that's not a strict rule. Only amongst sushi connoisseurs, I would say. Plenty of Japanese people mix their wasabi and soy sauce, so it's definitely not a western idea.

I don't make so much Japanese food at home when in England because the ingredients aren't so readily available... And they're expensive... But I miss it. I do make simple things like soba, or miso soup, and rice of course, tempura too, but I don't normally eat fatty foods.
I make sushi if we have guests and such. It's not such a hassle to make for me.. But at the same time it's not an everyday dish in Japan. We only eat sushi on special occasions generally. It's not like the Japanese version of a sandwich; contrary to the way they sell it in the west...

You don't need to feel guilty about enjoying California rolls! Who's to say everything must remain unadulterated?

Ah, I see. Alright then, I shall carry on mixing my wasabi and soy sauce even if it is to the distaste of these sushi connoisseurs. :mcsquee:

I've always wondered about tempura - was that as a result of Western influence, or did the Japanese coincidentally stumble across this style of cooking as the Westerners did? Deep-frying stuff just seems like such an... American thing. :mcheh: Pardon the ignorance.

Hm, if I ever get the chance to eat at your dining table, I shall come with an empty stomach. Homemade sushi~! Nothing better. My favourite of all time is salmon avocado sushi. I think it's also the favourite of everyone in my area, because my local sushi restaurant/takeaway makes 80% of their sushi rolls salmon avocado... and still manage to sell out by the end of lunchtime. The combination is a match made in heaven. What's your favourite kind of sushi? ^^

Hehe that's true. And the more California rolls I purchase, the more business these sushi takeaway owners get. Win-win situation.

I believe tempura comes from the Portuguese. So yes, an old importation.

I do like the salmon avocado combination! Even if it's not traditional, avocado is such a great sushi ingredient... I am fond of fatty tuna also. If I were eating in Japan, sea urchin is one of my favourites. Salmon roe too :) I have too many favorites to decide.

Ahh that makes sense. I've never had sea urchin before, what's it like? You don't eat the sharp bits, right? O.O;

Ooh I love salmon roe. There's two kinds, right? One that's bigger and one that's smaller? >>; I like the smaller one. Heh.

Just the insides. It's very soft. Sort of... Melt in your mouth? A creamy sort of texture. Other than that, it's hard to describe!
I think there's only one type of salmon roe? Though there are many other types of fish roe.

@Mrow: Hehe so is Jess! Sushi with roe and those with tamago are my favourites! They way they fold their eggs and its sweetness is just amazing XD

@Jessi: Haha, it's a common-ish name in my country :) Thanks! Do you make miso soup from the scratch? Or use miso paste? I heard sushi is expensive in Japan. Is that true?
