I'm back! Woo. I didn't have internet access for a week...anyways...
Um...so "sharia law" just means a set of instructions for how a government should comport itself to be in line with Islam. The irony is that it's just a conservative religious system of government. The only difference between "sharia law" and a conservative christian government is the rituals, other than that the goals are pretty much the exact same thing. So it's hilarious that conservative christians are so terrified of sharia law, when they advocate for the exact same policies just in a different language and with slightly different rituals. (This, of course, gets back to the fact that Christianity, Islam and Judaism are all Abrahamic faiths, as in descended from Abraham.)
One of the organizers of the March in D.C. is a Muslim American woman, that is true. So I'm not surprised you saw people trying to demonize her. It's just so frustrating to me that people use this strange sounding words (or at least, words that sound strange to them) without knowing what they mean.
I was at the march in Boston. It was crazy. Around 200,000 people showed up.
