I thought what she meant was that she used to one Etsy has on their homepage, but it's not the same, Etsy's is like 10x as long.

But Jacob, I don't think your PP is sufficiant like this. :mcsad:
You use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, pcistudio and Linkedin, as you use their plugins, so you would need to include them in your PP.
You also use Disqus on your blog, so you also need one for that and possibly also for Google+ as Disqus let's you comment with Google + (not sure whether that would already be covered with the Disqus privacy policy...)
Also, your privacy policy is not a click-able link, you need to copy and paste the URL that's there. Not sure that's allowed, as I think your privacy policy needs to be accessable for every page with one click.

You also use Format for your shop, so that's another privacy policy you need to cover.

It's all...not so easy :mcsad:

I don't have any social media plugins, they're just links out.

No, every Etsy shop has to have its own policy. They made it easy to create, you just follow their guide and copy it in with your own details. Because different shops have different data, like for example you might only sell digital goods and not need addresses.

Are we not talking about the website on your profile? There is a social media share option on it:

Some features in such plugins use embedded codes and this means that as soon as the visitor of your website arrives on your site, the embedded codes are loaded, and Facebook & Co get to know your visitor’s IP. It happens for sure as soon as you have a share feature as there needs to be a connection made between your visitor and their Facebook account so they can share the content.
Unless you have built a work-around for that? (like Shariff https://wordpress.org/plugins/shariff/ ) I don't know what plug in was used for the share button. I just know that for most of the common ones you would need to include it in your PP.

It is ridiculous. Like, on my blog I have a disclaimer that, if you leave a comment on one of the blog post and enter a name, or website or anything like this with it, both the name and the comment is saved. Like...dhu? What else would happen if you leave a comment?
Unfortunately you can't just say "use this site at your own risk", it's all about laws...

Maybe this is just a European thing? Because I don't think that I've heard anything about this.

Nope, see, that's the problem. Yes, the law is actually only an European thing, but as soon as your website is accessible in Europe, you need to follow these laws.

"regulation also applies outside the EU if they collect or process personal data of individuals located inside the EU"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_D ... Regulation

But I am surprised you have not heard about this, It has been all over the internet for months.

Man who decided that? That completely messes with Europes access to the internet. There are a ton of people who aren't going to go through the effort of updating all that info.

Well, obviosuly the European Union.... :mcsweat:
But everyone here thinks it's completely ridiculous too...
It's like they wanted to protect people's personal data and have gone completely overboard with it.

Suugar-Fiend: Oh no, what happened?! I hope your mother will be well!
