I haven't been reading much lately, and I also wasn't crazy about it, so it took me a long time to finish. I liked it just barely enough to read the next book, so I started The Last Wizard (Wizard of the Grove #2). Luckily it's just the two books.
I admit, when it comes to Tanya Huff, I much prefer her Valor series, and the Enchantment Emporium trio. They're much more tightly edited than the Wizard of the Grove duology.
The one I keep thinking I'll get rid of and then keeping because it makes me laugh so much was the 2-in-1 collection "Stealing Magic" with her most powerful -and-lazy Wizard in the World, and the best thief in the city. It's actually all short stories, two collections around those two characters, and they are mostly just so funny. She spoofs so well around all the old tropes.
Normally I'm not fond of short stories, but those ones are gems.
