Do you also like yandere characters? When you say "cute in an evil way" all I can think of is that webtoon I was reading recently where the MC seems weirdly tolerant of evil tendencies in a character obsessed with him, because "she's cute". I'd be running so fast, but apparently it's a whole thing. Enough of a thing to have its own name.

Frankly, I think the character in question would be vastly improved by someone using Baleful Polymorph on her, and turning her into a squirrel, but she's got a fanbase, so seems like that's just me.

What are you reading? I am kinda interested.

I actually don't like yandere characters. Evilish squirrels are cute, evilish human are not, even if they are fictionnal.

Lol they’re more annoying than anything. I consider squirrels to be oversized rodents lol.

Husband told me that one day when he was little, a squirrel chewed on the power lines and they lost power for a few days.
I found this kinda hilarious because the squirrel I had near my house was not only a red haired beautiful thing but also so scared of even being seen by people that it would never get close to the houses.

If it managed to damage the powerlines to the point that it affected the power supply, it definitely got past the insulation to the wires... so I'm assuming it didn't survive.
That's some determined chewing.
"I'll eat this even if it kills me!"
*kills it*
*dies a Squirrel Hero*

I dunno. Dedicated munching, squirrels are weird.

Yeah our squirrel is pretty naughty. The rest are meh, the small reddish squirrels are really territorial and will chase off the larger squirrels. Lol

I really miss the wildlife.
Living in a city it gets boring in that regard and I'm lucky enough to live near a big park with a big pond so at least there are birds.
I have heard of raccoon sightings too but I'm not outside at night enough.

I definitely live where there is more wildlife.
Mostly that's great.

Then there are the summer nights when the "exquisite" fragrance of skunks comes wafting through the windows...

Not so pleased then, lol

And although I'm pretty good about sleeping through things, the noise a rabbit sometimes makes when it's killed is unholy. Truly. And there are coyote packs very good at rabbit hunting, which lately will set off the neighbor's (new) dog, and no one can sleep through that racket.

And then there are the times when the owls and the crows decide they have a blood feud.
No clue what that one is about, but anyone who tries to tell you owls are silent lies. They may have quiet wing flaps (especially compared to, say, water fowl or mourning doves), but they can definitely make themselves heard.

Mostly, though, it's very wonderful because the noises humans make is typically of a decibel level that puts everything else to shame.
(Who uses a chainsaw at 5:15 ante meridian?!)

Country people, that's who uses a chainsaw at this kind of hours.
Though I do understand considering how hot it gets in the day I'd rather have this kind of work over and done with early in the morning.

The noises human make also never ever stops, even in the dead of the night, it's also loud.

There are people who say owls are silent? I mean, their cries are loud enough to travel pretty far. One especially scared the shit out of me back when I was living in the countryside.

Thankfully I am not acquainted with coyotes. I definitely don't want to be. Foxes are more than enough.

Yes.
The coyote pack is a rather new addition to the area; I'm told by older residents that 2-3 decades ago their territory was much further east, and we had foxes locally. Then the wolves were reintroduced as part of a program to help them come back to their original population levels, and the coyote packs were driven out and came here, and the local foxes all fled we-don't-know-where, so now there are no foxes, but we do have coyotes.

I'm sure someone somewhere is doing a dissertation on all this, but locally it just changes the noises we hear, ha ha
